Our Sheet Metal Fabrication Services

Sheet metal fabrication is the process of forming parts from a metal sheet. Sheet metal parts are known for their durability, which makes them great for end-use applications. Parts used for low-volume prototypes and high-volume production runs are most cost-effective due to sizeable initial setup and material costs.

Fabrication

CAD

Our CAD (computer-aided design) software is used to create precision 2D part drawings. Our CAD/CAM department uses FabriWIN, Solidworks, and Bysoft technologies.

Laser Cutting

Laser cutting is a precision, non-contact fabrication process which utilizes a laser to cut materials. The Process works by directing a high power laser through optics. A combination of heat and gas pressure creates the cutting action, resulting in high quality, dimensionally accurate cuts. Our fiber laser can cut hot rolled steel and stainless up to 1” thick, as well as aluminum up to 5/8” thick.

CNC PUNCHING

A CNC punching machine utilizes programmable X and Y axis’ to accurately position a workpiece under the machines punching ram. Form features such as holes, slots, louvers, and dimples can be processed efficiently with this fabrication method.

PRESS BRAKE

A press brake is a CNC machine used for forming sheet and plate steel. Material is accurately placed over a V-shaped die and pressed into shape from above by a punching ram and die.

WELDING

Welding is the process by which two pieces of metal can be joined together. The combination of extreme heat and the addition of metal wire cause two structures to join together as one.

INSPECTION

Precision measuring instruments are used to ensure parts are fabricated within our customers’ dimensional tolerances. Our inspection department maintains the highest level of quality for your fabrication needs. Our latest addition of a Romer 6-axis Probing inspection arm can store measurement data to be included in your first article inspection reports.

OUTSIDE PROCESSING

We have relationships with a number of high-quality vendors to suit your finishing needs. Examples include, but are not limited to, heat-treating, black oxide, zinc chromate, nickel, chrome, Teflon, as well as limitless colors/textures in powder coat or wet paint.
